What Are Full Mouth Dental Implants?

What Are Full Mouth Dental Implants?

Full mouth dental implants, also known as full arch implants or teeth-in-a-day, are a complete replacement of either the upper row of teeth, bottom row of teeth, or an entire mouth full of teeth. Instead of using one implants per each damaged/missing tooth, only four implants are needed to replace an entire arch of teeth (12-14 teeth).

Full arch dental implants are an ideal option for many people who have several missing or damaged teeth. Not only do they offer you efficient results in a fraction of time (compared to single implants), but you don’t have to get one implant for each missing or damaged tooth. The dental implant cost of a full mouth or full arch dental implants is exceptionally lower than several individual dental implants.

We specialize in full mouth procedure, having performed over 5,000 full-arch (i.e., 4-on-1, teeth-in-a-day) procedures. Given our expertise, we offer to all of our clients:

  • $14,950 per arch all-inclusive
  • Quality Warranty
  • Lowest price guarantee (see low price guarantee for details)

Full Mouth Dental Implant Cost and Pricing

What Is Included in our $14,950 Full Arch Cost?

Average national pricing for the full arch procedure ranges between $25,000 – $40,000 per arch (i.e., $50,000-80,000 for both arches of the mouth). At America’s First, we are able to offer the procedure at a much-reduced amount of $14,950 per arch (less than $30,000 for both arches of your mouth)

This is an all-inclusive, upfront cost. That means it covers the entire procedure, from start to finish, without surprise fees or other unexpected costs. It includes:

  • All appointments and meetings (e.g., Initial consultation, surgery, post-operative checkup)
  • Any imaging needed (e.g., CT scan, X-ray)
  • Surgery to extract teeth and place dental implants into jawbone
  • IV sedation anesthesia
  • Temporary teeth used during recovery and healing
  • Custom crafted and fitted permanent zirconia teeth that is made to fit your mouth

If additional costs are required (for example, if you need a bone graft, which is uncommon), you will know your total cost before you make a financial commitment to the procedure.

Full Mouth Dental Implant Cost vs. Individual Implant Cost

Many patients may be trying to decide if they should pursue a full mouth restoration, which will replace an entire row of teeth, or if they should focus on replacing individual teeth. This may be a consideration due to cost or an apprehension of removing healthy teeth to make way for full mouth implant.

  • Individual Implant: $3,000 – $6,000 per tooth (nationally)
  • Full arch: $14,950/arch at our office ($25,000 – $40,000 nationally)

Individual dental implants range between $3,000 – $6,000 per tooth and can make sense for some patients who just need to replace a few teeth. However, the cost of individual implants quickly increases as the number of missing teeth increases.

Instead of repeating this process in individual procedures (as in the case of placing multiple individual implants), full mouth dental implant carries out these procedures for all teeth in one efficient surgery.

Remember, full mouth dental implants only require 4 implants to be installed for an entire row of teeth. For the vast majority of our patients who come to us, it makes far more financial and practical sense to pursue a full mouth procedure and return the mouth to its healthy, original function.

How Full Mouth Dental Implant Procedures Work

The full mouth procedure is a surgery that requires an exceptionally high level of expertise to perform, which is why we only use oral surgeons. We have performed over 5,000 of these all-on-X procedures, and below are typical processes and the materials used.

Initial Consultation

Initial Consultation

You will have an initial consultation with our oral surgeon. Once you know that a full mouth implant procedure is right for you, you’ll be eligible to undergo the surgery. The procedure will target either the upper row of teeth, bottom row of teeth, or both.

IV sedation and Surgery

IV sedation and Surgery

During the procedure, you will be put under IV sedation anesthesia and all remaining natural teeth in the targeted row will be removed. Then, four implants (or screws) are permanently attached to your jawbone. These implants will act as an anchor for your entire arch of new permanent teeth.

Abutments are attached

Abutments are attached

Next, abutments are attached into the implants. Abutments are the part of the implant that will physically connect to the permanent bridge (the part that people see when you smile), holding it in place. Unlike the implant screws, which are permanent fixtures, abutments can be removed and replaced by your oral surgeon.

Teeth installed

Once the abutments are in place, a row of temporary teeth will be installed. This row of teeth is the only part of your dental implant procedure that will be visible to those around you. You’ll use the temporary teeth while your gums and bones heal from the surgery. After a few months of healing, you will receive your final zirconia teeth, which can last a life-time given proper care.

What They’re Saying

I went in to [America’s First] due to bad work from another dentist… the previous work needed to be fixed ASAP. Dr. walked me through how he would fix my implants and made me feel much more at ease. It was easy to work with his office to schedule the procedure. I am so happy I found him and his work is great! Definitely smiling big now =)

Big thank you to the Oral Surgeon doctor and staff at America’s First Dental Implant Center in Miami. I had a tooth that broke and needed to be replaced with a dental implant… The surgery was painless and I was asleep the entire time and now I have a brand new tooth. It was really a stress free experience and at a much lower price than other offices. I highly recommend America’s First to anyone that needs dental implants.

1. What are the materials used in full mouth dental implants?

Our offices use specific, high-quality materials to provide you with the best possible dental implants. While other offices may use different materials, our dental implants are made with two primary materials: titanium implant and zirconia bridge.

Titanium Implant

Your all-on-X dental implants will be made of titanium. Titanium is strong and biocompatible, meaning it is not harmful to the human body. It’s why titanium is used in a wide variety of other medical procedures, like hip and knee replacements. It’s also extremely durable and reliable, with titanium implants achieving on average 97% success rate over 10 years.

Zirconia Bridge (permanent, final set of teeth)

The bridge (or the visible part of the all on X procedure that looks like real teeth) sits on top of the four implants and will be made from zirconia. Zirconia bridges are:

  • Durable and strong
  • Natural-looking
  • Comfortable
  • Biocompatible (your body won’t reject it)

Unlike materials used by other providers such as acrylic, zirconia won’t break down or discolor. Zirconia has become a popular material in a variety of dental procedures, not just implants, and we have seen this material have the greatest success.

6. Why is Full-Arch better than Getting Individual Implants?

If you need to replace multiple teeth, then full arch dental implants is likely more efficient than getting individual implants. Most importantly, it will likely save you time and money. A single dental implant costs between $3,000 to $6,000, and so the cost increases quickly as the number of missing teeth increases. In contrast, full-arch is offered at a fixed fee – $14,950 –that is unaffected by how many damaged and missing teeth you have. Furthermore, full-arch implants can help treat dental diseases and stop further bone loss.
